Mrs. Tilney’s Pearls

(1 customer review)

Unscented, uncolored, and 100% natural soap. The pearl-like appearance of these bars is quite unique and the subtle white-on-white swirl so very elegant.

In Jane Austen’s novel, Northanger Abbey, there is a mystery afoot regarding the fate of Mrs. Tilney, who died long before the book begins. She is the late mother of the hero, Henry Tilney, whom Catherine Morland (who was in training to be a heroine since she was 15) falls in love with.

“I am sure Mrs. Tilney is dead. There was a very beautiful set of pearls that […] Miss Tilney has got now, for they were put by for her when her mother died.” ~Northanger Abbey
