Will you tell Emma one thing very clever, two things moderately clever—or three things very dull indeed?
For a girl who had traveled as little as Emma, the prospect of a new vista was a dream come true. Box Hill promised to be lively and memorable for all!
“Emma had never been to Box Hill; she wished to see what everybody found so well worth seeing.” ~ excerpt from Emma, by Jane Austen.
This landscape artisan soap bar is inspired by the view from the summit of Box Hill in Surrey.

Direct from the pen of Jane Austen, amiable is one of our favorite regency words and one we wish to say more often!
The rose geranium scent is perfectly amiable!
“I love him. Indeed he has no improper pride. He is perfectly amiable. You do not know what he really is.” ~Elizabeth discussing Mr. Darcy with her father. From Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen.
On Catherine Morland's first evening at Northanger Abbey, she is drawn to a mysterious cabinet in her bedchamber. Her heart leaps with delight as she opens it and searches for the secrets within. This rosewood and musk scented soap bar is inspired by the rich wood scent that she might have smelled.
"With the determined celerity of hope's last effort, the door suddenly yielded to her hand: her heart leaped with exultation at such a victory, and having thrown open each folding door." ~Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen.

This lemon, bergamot, and vanilla scented bar is inspired by our favorite regency mood, VEXED.
The calming scent of this soap is just the thing to soothe your poor nerves. Whether it's Mr. Bennet or Mr. Darcy vexing you, the uplifting soft scent will do you good!
“You take delight in vexing me. You have no compassion for my poor nerves.” ~Mrs. Bennet of Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

Rational Creatures bar soap is a fresh and clean scent with notes of bergamot, apricot, and currant. The bar depicts an artistic scene of wild ocean currents, strong and willful. These are not calm waters! Mrs. Croft would be right at home among the waves.
A rational creature is a woman celebrated for being strong, intelligent, brave, and capable. The perfect gift for a teacher, mother, sister, or friend. Let us all strive to be rational creatures and navigate our path into the current.
"But I hate to hear you talking so like a fine gentleman, and as if women were all fine ladies, instead of rational creatures. We none of us expect to be in smooth water all our days." ~Mrs. Croft, from Jane Austen's Persuasion, published 1817.
"Make women rational creatures, and free citizens, and they will quickly become good wives; - that is, if men do not neglect the duties of husbands and fathers." ~Mary Wollstonecraft, A Vindication of the Rights of Women published 1792.
How ardently I admire and love you...
Inspired by Mr. Darcy's extraordinary words, this romantic artisan soap denotes those ardent feelings with a riot of red and pink hues.
We took inspiration from the 2005 film adaptation where the proposal takes place outdoors in the rain (in Kent). We call the fragrance "Garden Rain."
“In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” ~Mr. Darcy proposing to Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
