Lavender water, made from steam distilled lavender buds, was commonly used both as a perfume and remedy in Jane Austen’s day. Ours comes in a 4 oz glass mist bottle so you can spray anywhere that is pleasing.
It is ideal for use on either body or washable linens, though we recommend testing it on a small inconspicuous area of fabric first.
“But in dancing, their duties are exactly changed; the agreeableness, the compliance are expected from him, while she furnishes the fan and the lavender water.” ~Mr. Tilney, Northanger Abbey.
“Catherine, supposing some uneasiness on Captain Tilney’s account, could only express her concern by silent attention, obliged her to be seated, rubbed her temples with lavender-water, and hung over her with affectionate solicitude.” ~Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen.
